Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Seasonally from mid-May through early October, the best place to shop for freshly grown produce, eggs, meat, cheese, baked goods, and more is the East Gwillimbury Farmers Market at the Civic Centre in Sharon. The market runs on Thursday afternoons from 2-7 p.m. Here is a chance to support local businesses while enjoying live entertainment and kids' activities.
A family tradition for a century and a half, check out Brooks Farms Market & Cafe for a barnyard full of fun in Mount Albert. There is always something fresh in the market and you can pick currants, berries, apples, squash, and pumpkins when in season. Kids can enjoy a playland designed just for them along with some favorite barnyard animals. If anyone gets hungry, lunch is available in the café. There are also many special events to look forward to such as the Maple Sugar Festival or Fun Fall Festival.
Loyal Alfred's Bar & Grill, fondly known as Jacx, serves up Sunday brunch and a variety of dinner options for the whole family several days a week. Dine in or take out, and choose between roast chicken, fish and chips, a lasagna dinner, or a fine steak.
Tatlows Broiler Bar offers a special brunch menu Saturdays and Sundays, and lunch and dinner menus Tuesdays – Fridays. While considered a hidden gem, Tatlows is not really any secret and is known throughout the region for its friendly, family-oriented feel. Tatlows also offers frozen meals, so you can pick up dinner to take home for another night.
